Pension Ready Initiative of The National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago
What is Pension Ready
Pension Ready is the National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT) taking steps to ensure that you, the customer upon retiring can easily access your benefit.
Many of us may not be aware of the fact that the National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT) was established in 1972 to administer the country’s compulsory NI Scheme now known as the NI System.
The number of persons, who would have started work in 1972 between the ages 18 to 20 years, makes up the 127,000 insured persons between the ages 55 to 59 years, and another 17,500 between ages 60 to 65 years who will become eligible for Retirement Benefits within the next 5 years.
The Retirement Benefit is one of the 23 benefits offered under the National Insurance System. It is paid to every employed person who has made National Insurance Contributions.
The Pension Ready initiative seeks to improve our customer value and understanding. The customer will now assist the NIBTT in ensuring that their contribution records are accurate well in advance of their retirement.
